The KPA has made a submission to Ecan regarding the Proposed Plan change 7 and requested to be heard on behalf of its members, and the Kaiapoi community, at the public hearings to be held in early June.

At the KPA Executive meeting last week, the Committee nominated their representative for the WDC Walking and Cycling Strategy Steering Group.

Kaiapoi business leaders have welcomed news the Waimakariri District Council will consider funding a new cycleway to link the town with Christchurch.

Earlier this year the KPA made a submission to the Waimakariri District Council (WDC) requesting consultation with the KPA regarding the proposed route for the Belfast to Kaiapoi cycleway, and requesting that the route go through central Kaiapoi. In May Martin Pinkham and Martyn Cook presented two submissions to the council on this year's draft Annual Plan.
