Martyn Cook

Business Manager, Secretary

Having been involved in business management for a decade within the hospitality industry, through to 16 years and counting as an IT contractor specialising in the management and marketing of web development projects, I am now honing these skills as business manager for the KPA.

I think of myself as the epitome of “Jack of all trades”, with the slight alteration of “pretty good at most of them…”, and am thoroughly enjoying getting to know the businesses, community groups and the people of Kaiapoi and North Canterbury, with the aim to achieve a real cohesion throughout.

Born in Invercargill, I am a reasonably recent import to Kaiapoi, having resided in Australia, Queenstown and Christchurch over the years, but Kaiapoi's small town feel and strong community spirit has convinced me to settle in.
Photography is a passion of mine, so I will often be seen taking off in my Jeep for whatever photographic opportunity presents itself, be it landscapes in the early mornings or late nights, community events, or basically anything that catches my interest.

I believe Kaiapoi has a fantastic opportunity to become a real destination town whilst still keeping its small town community feel, and I hope to work with the KPA and community to bring this to fruition.
