Join us for the LIONS FOUNDATION KAIAPOI CARNIVAL featuring exciting carnival activities, Family Fun Zone, Live Music, and the spectacular Kaiapoi Toyota Santa Parade . Experience the biggest Christmas celebration in North Canterbury with market stalls, food vendors,entertainment, and holiday cheer for the whole family!

🎪 What to Expect: Over 8,500 visitors, a dedicated Family Fun Zone (sponsored by McAlpines Mitre 10 Mega), bouncy-castles, go-carts, a toddler's zone, and the much-anticipated Santa Parade Sponsored by Kaiapoi Toyota will be travelling west from Dale Street.

🚗 How to Get There: Drive via SH1, turn into Ranfurly St; accessible by bus (Route X) and plenty of walking access from nearby car parks.

09:30 Family Fun Zone Entry fee for this area is FREE. Also, kindly note that we have a separate area for pre-school age children as well.
11:00 Live music on the Main Stage 🎵
13:00 The Santa parade begins Dale Street then down Ranfurly Street turning into Sidey Quay and will finish there.
14:00 Return to the Carnival, the craft stalls and food vendors will still be open. There will be an opportunity to have your photo taken with Santa at the KPA Information shelter. Some of the floats will remain on display at the Carnival.
15:30 The 2026 Kaiapoi Chrsitmas Carnival will close.

Parking Information
  • Parking available at Wylie Park.
  • Disability parking will be in the Rugby Club car park.

We are committed to making the event accessible for everyone:

  • Wheelchair access across main event area.
  • Accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities located near the Family Fun Zone.
  • Baby Change Station are provide by OurKidz NZ OSCAR
  • Water refill stations at three locations (north, central, south event areas).
  • Seating areas and 'Chill Zone' available by the KG Community Green
  • Do you have Eftpos and cash out facilities?
    No, we will not have Eftpos available. Individual stallholders and food trucks will offer eftpos, but please bear in mind that some will be cash only depending on their facilities.
  • Where do I park and is there a fee?
    There is a designated parking area which will be sign posted. The parking fee is $5 Cash (which will go towards helping keep the Family Fun Zone free for families to enjoy). Link to map.
  • Do you have disable parking? Link to map Yes, we do have a dedicated area close to the main entrance for disabled parking. The parking fee is FREE. Our crew will be on hand to assist where needed for anyone requiring help in this area.

Kaiapoi Fire Brigade There is an on-site first aid provided by Kaiapoi Fire Brigade. In case of emergency, the first aid station is located near the main stage.

Security guards will patrol the event; Please follow event staff instructions in case of emergency or evacuation.

🔍 Lost & Found

Lost items desk is located next to the main information tent. Items will be held for up to 30 days, then donated if unclaimed. Email office@Kaiapoi.org.nz for post-event claims.

Food Trucks Delicious Food

Wide variety of food trucks and refreshment stalls throughout the event.

Note: Outside food and drink allowed for baby snacks and medical needs only.

🐾 Pets & Event Rules

Pets: Only certified service animals permitted in the event zone. No other pets for safety and crowd management.

  • Bring your reusable water bottle.
  • Wear comfortable footwear.
  • No alcohol. There won’t be any Alcohol sold at this event.
  • No large suitcases or glass bottles.
  • Smoking only in designated external areas.

    The carnival is an all-weather event! Most stalls are under cover. In case of extreme weather, please check our Facebook page for the latest updates.
  • Is the event suitable for people with disabilities?
    Yes, the main event area is wheelchair accessible. We also have accessible toilets and designated disabled parking bays. Please see the Accessibility & Facilities section for more details.
