Our Story

Our mission is to strengthen and enhance the community of Kaiapoi, both now and in the future. We are dedicated to promoting Kaiapoi as a vibrant and inviting destination for visitors and residents alike.
To achieve this, we organise a variety of local events that are free or low-cost, aiming to draw visitors to experience everything our charming river town has to offer. Our goal is to showcase the unique attributes and attractions that make Kaiapoi special, fostering a sense of community involvement and engagement along the way.

John Rule
Chairman
Current chair of KPA. I was involved with a very large community event in Geraldine for around 9 years up until 2017, in positions thru to chair for several of those years. The carnival in Geraldine was over 4 days and in total had approx. 400+ stalls and food vendors. Now I am the current chair of KPA and have been involved with the KPA for 6 years. It's a great organization with focus on the community. I have lived in Kaiapoi since Jan 2018 with my wife Joanne and daughter Aleisha.
Martin Pinkham
Secretary
I am currently the Secretary of KPA after serving as Chairperson for 4 years. I am now retired after 45 years as a professional civil engineer. I have lived in Kaiapoi for most of my life. My wife and I raised out family of four boys in the belief that a town like Kaiapoi is the best place for families to thrive. I am passionate about the role of Kaiapoi Promotions as the town needs such an organisation to promote the town and showcase what it has to offer to both locals and visitors. A key part of this is organising low-cost events that appeal to the whole community, and also acting as an advocate for the town.
